Barnes & Noble PSD Art Exhibit
Celebrate Youth Art month in March at the Pewaukee School District-wide, K-12 visual art exhibit at Brookfield Square Barnes and Noble.The exhibit runs Mar. 18-25. You are invited to a reception with refreshments on Fri., Mar. 20, 6-7:30 pm. Barnes and Noble will donate 5% of sales (online and in store) from March 20-25 back to the Pewaukee SD art programs.á Use the attached voucher when you make your purchase.

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent-Teacher Conferences at Asa Clark Middle School are scheduled for March 12, 2015 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.á Student progress reports for Term 4 will be handed out at these conferences.á If you are unable to attend conferences, progress reports will be mailed home after March 12th.á Please keep in mind that student grades can always be accessed in Skyward Family Access.á Asa Clark's conference format is designed for 5-minute conferences with teachers of your choice.á If you need a longer conference, please feel free to contact any of your child's teachers to schedule a conference at a different time.á Please contact Mrs. Carrigan (Principal Secretary) with questions or concerns about Parent-Teacher Conferences (carrcyn2@pewaukeeschools.orgáá ----áá 262-695-5034).

YOUTH RISK BEHAVIOR SURVEY
This year, the Pewaukee School District will be administering the Youth Risk Behavior Survey to all students in grades 7-12 during the week beginning March 23, 2015. This online survey, sponsored by the Department of Education, is administered to youth in schools throughout the state and nation. It collects anonymous information on health and safety issues such as nutrition, bicycle safety, bullying, alcohol and drug use, and sexual activity. Data from the survey will be used to analyze the current health and counseling programs, with the goal of reducing risk-taking behavior and promoting healthy decisions. áOn March 2nd, a Youth Risk Behavior Survey FAQ sheet (click here) and an Opt-Out of the Youth Risk Behavior Survey form (click here) was mailed home to all Asa Clark Middle School families. Questions about this survey can be directed to ACMS School Counselor Adriana Plach at placadr@pewaukeeschools.org.

8TH GRADE PROMOTION

Promotion celebration activities for 8th grade students are scheduled for June 4, 2015 as follows:

6:30 - 7:00 p.m. - 8th grade students line-up for promotion celebration in the PHS Auditorium
7:00 - 8:15 p.m. - 8th grade promotion celebration in PHS Main Gym (no limit on guests)
8:15 - 10:15 p.m. - 8th grade promotion celebration dance in PHS Auditorium Lobby (only ACMS 8th grade students are able to attend the dance)

GIRL SCOUT AWARD
Congratulations to Sydney Dankert, 8th grade student at Asa Clark Middle School, on being accepted to the Girl Scouts Art of Theater Destination Program which will be held in Ashland, Oregon in July, 2015.á Out of an international application base of girls, Sydney was chosen to be one of twenty girls to attend the destination program.á During her visit to Ashland, Sydney will have the opportunity to attend the Shakespearean Festival and participate in the technical design, acting, and other aspects of the theater.

ASTRONOMY ESSAY AWARD
Congratulations to Julia Derzay, 8th grade student at Asa Clark Middle School.á Julia submitted an essay on what she loves best about astronomy for the Astronomy's 2015 Youth Essay Contest.á The editors of Astronomy Magazine selected Julia's essay as the winner of this contest.á Julia has been awarded an all-expense-paid trip for her and a chaperone to the Northeast Astronomy Forum & Telescope Show which will be held in April, 2015 in New York.á This show is one of the world's premier astronomy expos.á Again, congratulations to Julia Derzay!
STATE PATRIOT PEN WINNER FROM ASA CLARK

Congratulations to Rebecca Rentz (7th grade ACMS student) for having her Patriot Pen essay being selected as the winner for the State of Wisconsin.á As the State of Wisconsin winner, Rebecca will be competing against the winners from all the other States who participate in the VFW National competition.á The results from the National competition will be announced in March, 2015.á Rebecca will be honored at the VFW Mid-Winter State Conference on February 21, 2015.á To read Rebecca's winning essay, please click here.
GEOGRAPHY BEE WINNERS
We have our winners! áCongratulations to Jamie D (left) and Grant N (right), our 1st and 2nd place winners in the ACMSáNational Geography Bee! áAs the winner of our Championship Round, Jamie D has taken a written examination. áHis performance is being submitted to National Geographic, and the 100 top-scoring students (Grades 4-8) in Wisconsin will advance to the State Bee in spring. Congratulations to both Jamie and Grant, and best of luck Jamie!á

ATTENDANCE REPORTING FOR STUDENTS
Please call the Attendance Office (262-695-5024) each morning (prior to 7:30 a.m.) your child will beáabsent from school or tardy to school.ááIf your child has an appointment during the school day, send a note with your child stating the time they need to leave and the reason.á Your child should bring this note to the Attendance Office prior to 1st hour the day of their appointment to get an off-campus permit.

If enrolling a 7th orá8th grade student at Asa Clark Middle School for the 2014-15 school year,áplease select the "New Families/Registration" tab to the left, and then select the "Enrollment Paperwork" folder whereáyou will find all of the forms necessaryáto enroll a new student.á When completing either a 7th or 8th Grade Course Selection Sheet, please feel free to reference the Course Description Guide which willáprovide you with a description for each course.á In addition, if you are enrolling a 7th grade student, you need to also reference the 2015-16 Course Description Guide and complete a 2015-16 7th Grade Course Selection Sheet as well.
