ENROLLMENT OF NEW STUDENT OR TOUR OF ASA CLARK

New prospective families to the Pewaukee School District that would like a tour of Asa Clark Middle School (7th and 8th grades), can schedule a tour by contacting School Counselor Adriana Plach (262-695-5057 or placadr@pewaukeeschools.org).

If enrolling a 7th or 8th grade student at Asa Clark Middle School for the 2013-14 school year, please select the "New Families/Registration" tab to the left, and then select the "Enrollment Paperwork" folder where you will find all of the forms necessary to enroll a new student.  When completing either a 7th or 8th Grade Course Selection Sheet, please feel free to reference the Course Description Guide which will provide you with a description for each course.

- Document to prove residency within Pewaukee School District boundaries (i.e., water bill, electric bill, etc.)

7TH GRADE FIELD TRIP TO UW-MADISON

On May 8th, all 7th grade students will be participating in a College & Career Readiness Day.  There will be several activities planned throughout the day, but the biggest is a field trip to UW-Madison to tour the campus!  Please note that this field trip to UW-Madison will occur rain or shine; therefore, students should dress accordingly!  Students will be provided a box lunch for this day from the ACMS cafeteria.  There will be a $4.00 charge for this box lunch which is due at the same time that permission slips for this field trip are due (May 2nd).  To access a copy of the permission slip, please click here.  Contact Mrs. Plach, School Counselor with questions or concerns (placadr@pewaukeeschools.org).

  
MUSICAL PERFORMANCE OF "ALADDIN JR"

Students in 2nd semester Drama classes and students in Drama Club will be performing the musical "ALADDIN JR" in the high school's auditorium on May 15 (6:00 p.m.), and May 16 & 17 (7:00 p.m.).  ALADDIN JR is a tale of a street rat (Aladdin) who becomes a prince!  This musical will be filled with magic, mayhem, and flying carpet rides.  Tickets will be available on-line (click here for the link......https://search.seatyourself.biz/webstore/webstore.html?domain=asaclarkms).  Please note the the on-line webstore closes 12 hours prior to each performance.  Tickets can also be purchased the night of each performance at the box office which is immediately outside of the auditorium.

STUDENT COUNCIL HOSTS FUNDRAISER

Student Council is hosting a "Change War" fundraising competition between resources to see which resource brings in the most change.  All change collected will go towards purchasing needed supplies (diapers, soap, shampoo, blankets, etc.) and will be donated to local women and family shelters.  This fundraiser runs from April 21 through May 1.  Contact Mrs. Giese (giesjul@pewaukeeschools.org) with questions/concerns.
 
SCHOOL DANCE

Student Council is hosting a "Welcome to ACMS Dance" for current Pewaukee School District 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students on May 9, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.  The cost to attend the dance will be $5.00; permission slips will be distributed on May 1st.  Pizza, soda and other snacks will be available for purchase and there will be an open gym as well.  Contact Mr. Giese (giesabr@pewaukeeschools.org) with questions/concerns.

POPS CONCERT

Students in 7th and 8th grade band and choir will be performing their annual POPS Concert on May 28, 2014 beginning at 6:00 p.m. on the front lawn of ACMS (this concert is open to the public).  Bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on.  Concessions will be available for sale.

8TH ANNUAL TRENCH TOURNAMENT

Student Council is hosting their 8th annual Trench Tournament.  There will be three divisions (6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade division) with each grade playing on different days as follows:

6th grade - June 4, 2014 from 3:45 - 6:00 p.m.
7th grade - June 5, 2014 from 2:45 - 5:00 p.m.
8th grade - June 6, 2014 from 2:45 - 5:00 p.m.

All of the proceeds from the tournament will go towards Wisconsin Association of Student Council (WASC) Leadership Camp scholarships for Asa Clark students.  Team registration forms are available from the Student council Club school fusion page.  Contact Mr. Giese (giesabr@pewaukeeschools.org).
2013-14 CALENDAR CHANGES
  • Students will now have a half day of school on Friday, May 2, 2014, (from 7:25 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.)  This will be a B Day.
  • Beginning February 10, 2014, all PSD schools will be adding 5 minutes to each school day through the end of the school year. Students at ACMS and PHS will begin their school day at 7:25 a.m.

MUSICAL PERFORMANCE OF BEAUTY & THE BEAST

Mid January 2014, Asa Clark Middle School's drama class and club students performed the musical "Beauty & the Beast".  Congratulations to the cast and crew on your stellar performances.  Please enjoy the slide show above which contains pictures from the musical. 
 
2014 ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR

Asa Clark Middle School and the Pewaukee School District are proud to announce that ACMS Associate Principal Lisa Rettler has been named the 2014 Assistant Principal of the Year for the State of Wisconsin.  This award is sponsored by the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA).  Ms. Rettler is very deserving of this recognition based on her outstanding work in supporting teaching and learning through a student-centered approach, innovative practices, and systems thinking.

FUNDRAISER - PTO CULVER'S NIGHT

Join PTO members at Culver's (2600 North Grandview Boulevard in Waukesha) on the second Monday of each month for dinner, dessert and fun with friends.  The PTO will receive 10% of the profits from each evening which will help support students and teachers at ACMS, Horizon and PLE.  Hope you can join us at Culver's sometime this school year!
 
ATTENDANCE REPORTING FOR STUDENTS

Please call the Attendance Office (262-695-5024) each morning (prior to 7:30 a.m.) your child will be absent from school or tardy to school.  If your child has an appointment during the school day, send a note with your child stating the time they need to leave and the reason.  Your child should bring this note to the Attendance Office prior to 1st hour the day of their appointment to get an off-campus permit.

FAMILY INFORMATION CHANGES

In an effort to keep current with parent/school communication, parents/guardians are being asked to update their contact information through Family Access anytime there is a change during the school year to your e-mail address, home address, home/work/cell telephone numbers, etc.  Thank you for your assistance with this request.  Contact Mrs. Carrigan with questions (262-695-5034 or carrcyn2@pewaukeeschools.org).


FOOD SERVICE

It is important to check the balance of your child's food service account either with your child or through Family Access.  When submitting food service payments to the school office, please make certain all money/checks are submitted in a sealed envelope with your child's first and last name PRINTED on the front of the envelope.  Students should bring this payment to the school office prior to the start of the school day.  Contact Mrs. Carrigan with questions (262-695-5034 or carrcyn2@pewaukeeschools.org).
